The Annual Day 2013

Venue: - Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Marathi Medium Ground

Time: - 5:30 p.m. onwards

A grand Annual Day was prepared and conducted by the school on 18th December, 2013. After lighting the lamp, which is a symbol of spirituality and intellect, the stage opened with the Ganesh Vandana, an invocation to Lord Ganesha or Siddhivinayak to bless us that day. The children from Std. VII and VIII performed gracefully under the choreography of Mr. Ketan Shirke. This was followed by a cheerful Welcome Song by the tiny tots from Std. I and II. But this was not the end of the magical feet of the little angels. The cute cherubs continued to enchant us with their magic in a Musical Medley. They were truely adorable and it is commendable that ninety six children participated in the item.

Then we had an item with a difference. A Marathi Street Play, conveying an important message for all of us and highlighting the problems we face and may face in the future regarding water, its shortage and purity. The play, 'Yala Jeevan Aise Nav' ended with a graceful dance by students depicting Ganga and the magestic flow of her waters.

The prize distribution by our Principal Madam Mrs. Arnavaz Bhagat followed. But before that the audience could witness the Powerpoint Presentation on the various activities and achievements of our institution. The Model United Nations Conference which was organized by Vibgyor High School at Hyatt Residency, where 11 students of our school attended, was displayed through the Powerpoint. It also presented the International Conference 'Global Ethics: Save the planet Earth' held on 22nd and 23rd August, 2013, at Astana, Kazakhstan, where our Principal Mrs. Bhagat was invited by the National Commission of Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO as an officially appointed Member of The Confederation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations. Two students of our school, Ms. Reva Naik and Ms. Shriya Marathe were also invited as youth delegates representing India.

Next we were honoured and priviledged to have the presence of our chief guest Mr. Vishwas Nangre Patil, Additional Commissioner, Mumbai Police, who encouraged us with a wonderful and a motivating speech. Mr. Patil also did the honours to give away the prizes. Mrs. Rita Chandhok, called out the names of prize winners and their categories. She then proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The later part of the program started after a brief break of 20 minutes. We returned with our next item where the students of Std. III and IV took us into a world of fantasy in 'Life is Beautiful'. We entered a Toyland where the impossible becomes possible. This item concluded with a Yoga Dance, where the students showed their flexibility and grace.

'Gourav Maharashtracha', which was our next program, that had a lavish display of the Land of the Marathas with a rich cultural heritage, renowned for its artists, writers, poets, musicians, its great theatre and sports legends. The students of Std. V and VI brought their rendition of praise for all who have made Maharashtra the Gem that it is. The glorious extravaganza gave way to the concluding item for the evening, 'Dear Departed', a family drama, about how we need to care for our old and ageing parents, out of our sense of love and gratitudes. The play was put up by students of Std. VIII and IX, who worked very hard to make it a success.

The Grand Finale followed and the grandeur of the evening show finally concluded with the National Anthem.
